Manzano leads Carter in Australian nationals

Canberra skater Miriam Manzano, leads the field after the Ladies short program of the Australian Figure Skating Championships at the Boondall Ice World in Brisbane. Nagano Olympian Joanne Carter is in second place, with fellow New South Wales skater Sarah-Yvonne Prytula in third.

In a surprise result in the men’s event, Queenslander Daniel Harries leads after the short program from Sean Carlow, also from Queensland, and Bradley Santer of New South Wales. The free programs of both events are being held on Saturday afternoon December 6.

In ice dancing, Natalie Buck and Trent Nelson-Bond of New South Wales lead Western Australian couple Danika Bourne and Alexander Pavlov after the compulsory dance and the original dance.
