Skating History

At 22 years of age, Bradley Santer is the highest nationally ranked men's figure skater in Australia today.

He is current Australian Champion and has represented Australia at four World Championship events - the 2000 World Championships in Nice, France in March 2000, The 2001 World Junior Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, the 2003 World Championships in Washington DC and the 2004 World Championships in Dortmund, Germany.

Brad began skating in 1992 at age 10 years, a "treat" for doing well in a piano examination. He fell in love with the sport and in ensuing years won every State and National title in Australia, culminating with his Gold Medal at the 2003 National titles last December.

Brad has competed at many international events, including Junior Grand Prix events, several Four Continents Championships and several Golden Spin competitions in Zagreb. At the 2004 Four Continents Championship in Hamilton, Canada, he placed 13th in a very strong field.

Brad is a scholarship student of the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia and currently trains in Vancouver, under Canada's Coach of the Year, Joanne McLeod. Until recently, he was training in the United States under renowned coach Galina Zmievskaya. In Sydney, Australia his coach is Galina Pachin.

Bradley has broad ranging talents and abilities. He is an accomplished water-skier and snow skier, has a love of music and dance. He is also Studying at Macquarie University as a distance student. He hopes to eventually gain a degree in Law.

Bradley loves to dance and has studied dance disciplines which include ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, tap dancing and "street funk".
