When she was two and a half, part of her left foot, from the second toe diagonally backwards, was lost in an electric lawnmower. Elaine took up skating on the advice of doctors as a means of making her use both legs equally. Her left boot is specially stuffed to compensate.

As of 2004, Elaine Zayak has been married for 4 years.

She teaches skating at the Ice house in Hackensack, and is spokeswoman for the United States Figure Skating Association.

Elaine has a project coming up. She will take part in the production of Disney on Ice.

Special congratulations must go to Elaine. Recently on October 23, 2004, she was inducted into the New Jersey Sports Hall of Fame.
